artist's connections to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C. in the
U.S., and by the artist's new surroundings in The Hague (Den Haag),
Netherlands. These
landscapes are derived from sketches, imagination, photos, paintings by
Courbet, Whistler, or
