Storm at Sea II, (After Turner) (2008) Oil on canvas, 30x40 cm
Storm at Sea II
Inspiration from Joseph Mallord William Turner's Snow Storm: Steam Boat off a Harbour's Mouth (1842) at the Tate.
The paintings in the "Abstract landscape" series are inspired by the artist's connections to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C. in the U.S., and by the artist's new surroundings in The Hague (Den Haag), Netherlands.   These landscapes are derived from sketches, imagination, photos, paintings by Courbet, Whistler, or Turner, or memories.
